The mandrels are components of pipe bending complex for bend oil-and-gas pipelines of 219 – 1420 mm diameters production by cold bending pipes. The mandrels use allows taking qualitative measures for maximum possible bend corners as per appropriate GOST and SNiP (Construction Regulation Standards Building Code). Also it allows making bend of insulation and spiral-seam pipes

The mandrels construction provides high rigid under loading. Active parts of mandrels, which come into contact with pipe, are coated with polyurethane. The pipe fixed in a pipe bending machine, and then mandrel moves inside in pipe by means of hydro cylinders and discompessed. Then pipe is bended.

When bending, the mandrels, at the expense of its construction, is in very closed contact with pipe, that gives even distribution of effort inside the pipe, which incipient during bending, and significantly reduce appearance of corrugates and remaining oval of elbow.

All operations of pipe bending complex are controlled from control panel of pipe bending machine unit.

The presented mandrels as compared with other mandrel types have the following advantages:

  • high-quality polyurethane coating thickness of working part is increased 3-4 times. It in-creases 3 times of life time, excludes scaling and bursting polyurethane;
  • mandrel stringers are made from high-quality laminated spring steel with special thermal treatment;
  • profile of working elements fit to pipe profile exactly;
  • wedge construction is more rigid and can redistribute of maximum bend effort strains. It is also more serviceable and maintainable;
  • higher work resource of mandrels at the expense of increased work resource all parts as well as parts coupling as a whole;
  • using support equipments allow to realize rigid and exact moving not only does the man-drel but so does pipe as required by unclasped mandrel in the pipe and feed. (The mandrel feed in the analogues is unstable due to device slipping. In a number of cases, the other type mandrels can't move at all, especially in open construction sites, due to local or total defects of site covering or weather conditions).
